The key here is that you are installing MB QUart..these are bright..i have the rsc216 in my car. They are very bright [thats good] so you dont have to mount them up near your ears. when you talk about imaging ans quality you are talking about the same thing. the imaging has to do with the tweeters ability to deliver the matching sound to the woofer/midrange at the same time, thus staying in phase. the geral rule is the the tweeters should be no moew then 1.5x the diameter of the woofer away form it..ex..a 6inch midrange...tweeter would be NO MORE then 9 inches away from the tweeter. placimng the tweeters up high in the door raises the sound floor..BUT you sacrafice imaging/quality. the quarts are about the most top quality speakers you can find. the tweeters are absolute tops..some find them to bright..this is totally due to bad installation. they come with the ability to tune them on your crossover...so due to their ability to play highs VERY clear you dont need to mount them as high..and thus you keep your imaging as good aspossabilty. the old argument of "place them close to your ears"...well if that was true no major home speaker makers would be telling people to place their tweets right near the sitting position..AND THEY ARE NOT! hope i helped, feel free to ask..installed my Quarts about 6 monthes ago!
